Helen Malpass

Helen graduated from Sussex University with a first class BA(Hons.) in Anthropology and History. Helen’s degree nurtured a strong interest in human rights, including issues of migration and displacement. After graduating, Helen travelled through South Asia and undertook an internship with a children’s rights NGO in Kathmandu. The role was research and campaigns based with particular attention on female infanticide/foeticide as well as child labour, child trafficking and child homelessness.

After returning from South East Asia Helen joined Pathways as a Keyworker in August 2009. During her time with Pathways Helen has worked in close partnership with a local sports organisation to engage Pathways young people in sporting activities (mainly football and cricket so far!). Helen has also directly assisted with their participation and helped bring in funding bids to help maintain and develop the activities Pathways young people attend. Helen took a group of Pathways young people to London to play in the ‘Alternative World Cup’ football tournament in Summer 2010, the team call themselves ‘Pathways United’.
